Shower of Hope Oklahoma

Back in May, I created Shower of Hope Oklahoma as an outreach to the Hamil Family in Cashion, Oklahoma.  The Hamil Family lost their two precious boys from the May 24th Oklahoma tornadoes.  Ryan (3) and Cole (15-months) are now Heaven's newest angels.  Catherine Hamil is also expecting a baby girl in October and has a 5-year old daughter.  As a mommy, upon hearing about the Hamil's tragedy, I just felt stirred and felt led to do something.  I had to act.  I created a Facebook page Shower of Hope Oklahoma - Hamil Family and started spreading the word by any means possible.  In the first few hours, I received an overwhelming amount of responses as well as donations from companies such as The Boppy Company, The First Year's, The Learning Curve, BornFree, Medela, Earth Mama Angel Baby, STOKKE and many more.  STOKKE actually donated a baby crib, crib mattress, baby bedding, changing table and high chair for the Hamil's unborn baby girl plus a bed and mattress for the Hamil's 5-year old daughter, Cathleen.  Other companies, individuals and families are continuing to send donations, gifts and care packages for the family, new baby and the Hamil's daughter, Cathleen.  

The endeavor has been so successful and we have received many multiple and duplicated donation items that were above and beyond what the Hamil Family needed.  Because of the overwhelming support and generosity of many companies, families and individuals, I'm now in a position to help other families like the Hamil Family who were also affected by the May 24th Oklahoma storms and tornadoes.  On July 2nd, my husband and I met with Mikaela with Heart 4 Children Ministries.  Shower of Hope Oklahoma was able to bless a family in Chickasha, Oklahoma, by donating: A crib, crib mattress, cradle, changing table, pack-n-play, baby toys, baby/toddler clothes, high chair, umbrella stroller, a new Boppy nursing pillow, new Boppy crib sheets, a Medela breast pump, new Medela bottles and other baby items!
