Here are some highlights about the fluffy brands and goodies in the
Toni The Chic Momma giveaway:
One of my favorite fluffy "accessories" is the Changing Diapers: The Hip Mom's Guide To Modern Cloth Diapering book by Kelly Wels. "The Changing Diapers" book is a 215 page easy to read book on modern cloth diapering. This book is truly an easy and fast read. It's also loaded with fluffy pictures, helpful and insightful information and many resources. When you finish reading this, pass the fluffy love on to another friend!
After creating a local cloth diapering group on Facebook, I met a local mom who owns Green Bees Diaper Co. They're only available in snap closures, but Green Bees Diapers come in a variety of solid colors and adorable prints. I personally own 5 Green Bees Diapers and they have worked great for my little one's fluffy bottom! With cloth diaper prices starting at only $6, Green Bees Diapers are truly cloth diapers for any budget and they're perfect for building your stash!
Back in March, my household had a "cloth diaper victory" thanks to Londonware. See, cloth diapering during the day time has been a breeze from the get-go. Nap time and bed time were a different story though. When my little one first started wearing cloth diapers, it took some adjusting. I mean, his bottom was pretty "fluffy" with a cloth diaper. Nap time was a struggle because I think he felt a little uncomfortable with so much "fluff." Bed time didn't work as the microfiber inserts just couldn't hold all of the urine. Both of my boys are heavy wetters and for last 7-months I would use a disposable at night instead of cloth. I've really been wanting to cloth diaper at night, so I purchased 2 Thirsties hemp inserts. So, on the first night of trying cloth diapers on my little one, I used a hemp insert/fleece diaper cover combo. I put my little one in a bumGenius 4.0 pocket diaper and used 2 of the Thirsties hemp inserts. I put the Londonware fleece cover over the diaper and into my little one's Halo Sleep Blanket he went. I have to admit, I was a little nervous. I kept thinking, "I sure hope he doesn't leak out at 3am. Please, God, let this diapering combo WORK!" Rather then waking up to soaked sheets, I woke up to my to find complete dryness! Hip, hip hooray! The sheet was dry, the sleep blanket was dry, my little one's pajamas were dry, too! There had been a little leakage, but thanks to the Londonware fleece cover, none of the wetness leaked out. VICTORY!
I love wearing cloth diaper advocacy apparel and one of my favorite shirts is the "Change 3 Things" t-shirt from Cotton Babies. Each time I wear my 2011 or 2012 "Change 3 Things" t-shirt, someone will usually always ask me about cloth diapers. This t-shirt is a great conversation starter and you can help spread the fluffy good news in the process!
To win all of these fluff-tastic prizes, simply follow the easy Rafflecopter instructions below. This giveaway, as well as the other "Mother's Day Blog Hop" giveaways, will begin on May 1st at 12:01am EST and will end on May 12th at 11:59pm EST. Each blog in the "Mother's Day Blog Hop" has a cloth diaper prize valued at $15 or more, and many blogs have prize packs worth over $100. And, don't forget to enter the GRAND PRIZE giveaway at Daily Mothering for your chance to win this amazing $1300 Cloth Diaper Prize Pack!
And special thanks to Kelly Wels for sponsoring the "Changing Diapers" Book Giveaway and to Wendy Powell for sponsoring the Londonware Giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI cloth diaper due to exteme skin allergies for my youngest daughter. It was economical with the others but I have to use bamboo or only organic cottons, wool on my youngest. I love the sound of the Londonware though!
ReplyDeleteWe chose to cloth diaper because we were under extreme pressure from our finances. My oldest son has serious behavior issues. In September, when our preemie was not yet 48 hours old, my son attacked his toddler brother. Dad stepped in to separate him from the toddler, to protect the toddler, and defuse the situation. My son tripped backwards, over his feet and fell and broke his collar bone. Dad was out of the house for a month. That put us in the hole financially already, then he was arrested so we are still paying the loan off on his bail money. (Everything has since been sorted out, CPS found no abuse or fault on our part and they have actually apologized for the hassle they created in our lives. My son later put his fist through a wall, almost broke my wrist and spent 22 days in juvie. He's getting the help he needs, but we are trying to find an outside placement for him, boot camp is most likely at this point) My kids didn't get anything for their birthdays or the holidays. We made cookies and had a nice dinner, they were very understanding given the circumstances...then our only running vehicle died on us and the cost to repair it was too much upfront for us to afford, we managed to trade it off, but are making a car payment that we also can't afford right now....the money that I was saving us to MAKE it by cloth diapering, is now being diverted to pay the payment....It doesn't feel good to have $8 or $12 left in the bank on the fourth of the month, but at least everything is paid and there is enough TP in the house. Right now I'm trying to find someone to give me a sewing machine somewhere so that I can upcycle some stuff for cloth napkins, mama cloth, family cloth, whatever I can make, I will...but yeah, And we have two in diapers. I took this month's diaper money for the toddler and bought flats yesterday for him. So we are cloth diapering for financial reasons. And while I really hated it at first, I love it now, and I'm really happy to advocate to other moms that are in families that are struggling, because it DOES help. I am proof of that. I mean, without the diaper money we are saving going onto a car payment, we would be a family of 7, with our bills paid, our savings wiped out and no running vehicle with a store several miles away and no way to get to medical visits, to get food from the store or otherwise because it's too far to walk, no bus service, and this being TX, the heat and humidity are already becoming insane.....I honestly feel like it was the best thing that I could do for my baby too. Being a preemie, he needed extra care and I felt like it was what he wanted too. I know that sounds weird and people might not 'get it' but he gets REALLY disgruntled whenever you try and put him in disposables. Like he will scream bloody murder. But he's happy and playful when you put him in cloth. So I know this is really long, but that is why we chose to cloth diaper our infant, and now our toddler. I'm really happy that we are too. And I helped convert another friend of mine already. I'm just looking forward to the moments when I can say that I'm not cloth diapering for financial reasons anymore, I'm doing it for the environment. Because that is way less emotionally revealing to write about LOL
ReplyDeleteAll that said, I'd be most excited to win the diapers from Green Bees. Those will fit both of our little boys and can stretch our stash a little further! :)

ReplyDeleteI started looking into cloth diapers after my first was almost out of diapers and before I got pregnant with what ended up being twins. A friend of mine CD'd and I thought it was a great way to be environmentally friendly. And the cost savings ended up being a lifesaver for us with two in diapers at once. I am excited about the DryBees Pocket Diaper!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for the fleece cover. We started cloth diapering to save money.
ReplyDeleteI started CD to save money, but love how cute they look on my baby boy. I had my 1st child when I was 19 and didn't even think about CD back then. I remember being so broke that I would just leave her diaperless when we were at home on top of a towel and if she peed or pooed, then I would just wash it. Didn't work so well once she started to move. Now with my son I'm happy to be better financially, and have the opportunity to make greener choices. I really would love to try out the jeans that are made to fit over CD's.
ReplyDeleteI chose to cloth diaper because we wanted to be eco friendly and show that a working mom can still do cloth diapers for my baby! I would like to win the pocket diaper! I would like to try a new brand of cloth diapers!
ReplyDeleteFirst became interested in cloth diapering because of the low cost but then learned just how bad disposables are for baby! I would love to win the fleece cover. I have been eyeing fleece/wool covers for the last week and can't wait to try them!
