Have you heard about the Great Cloth Diaper Change? Leading up to Earth Day on April 22nd, the Real Diaper Association, a non-profit cloth diaper advocacy group, is hosting Real Diaper Week April 16-21st. Real Diaper Week will conclude with the 2nd annual Great Cloth Diaper Change on April 21st. I'm thrilled to be hosting the Tulsa, Oklahoma Great Cloth Diaper Change with Raye Mahlberg-Friedemann of Green Bees Diaper Co. I'm super excited about this year's event and to help celebrate, I wanted to host a fluffy giveaway!
I've been cloth diapering my youngest since August 2011 and it's been EASY. I love sharing with other parents how truly easy, affordable, convenient and fun cloth diapering can be! Fact is, I wish I would have cloth diapered from the get-go with both of my little ones. I had no idea how incredibly flufftastic (that's my new word - wink, wink) the world of cloth diapering truly was. If I'm blessed with a third baby one day, I'll be cloth diapering from the beginning and simply can't wait.

One of my favorite cloth diapering "accessories" is the Changing Diapers: The Hip Mom's Guide To Modern Cloth Diapering book by Kelly Wels. "The Changing Diapers" book is a 215 page easy to read book on modern cloth diapering. Let's face it, today's cloth diapers have come a long way since your grandma's cloth diapers. Heck, they've come a long way since your mom's cloth diapers. My mother-in-law cloth diapered my brother-n-law, my husband's younger brother, some 20+ years ago. So, those are the cloth diapers that my husband remembers and when I asked him about cloth diapering, his answer was a resounding, "NO WAY!" Then, fate stepped in, and after meeting Jennifer Labit, cloth diaper entrepreneur extraordinaire, I was blessed with the opportunity to try some fabulous bumGenius diapers from the "Tiny Socialite" collection designed by Chelsea Perry. Thus, my fluff obsession began and after eight months, I've completely fallen in love with cloth diapering. Oh, and more importantly, my husband loves cloth diapering now, too.
In my effort to spread to spread my love of fluff and celebrate the upcoming Great Cloth Diaper Change, I'm giving away a copy of Changing Diapers: The Hip Mom's Guide To Modern Cloth Diapering AND a Green Bees Diaper Co. solid-color pocket diaper!

ReplyDeleteI've been cloth diapering my little guy for about 9 months, since he was 3 months old, would have started earlier but he was too small for the one-size dipes I bought, next time I'll buy some smaller ones! We chose to cloth diaper because of the money savings.
ReplyDeleteWe CD for the environment, but also because the LO is allergic to sposies!
ReplyDeleteI will be Cloth Diapering my 3rd baby come August and I am so very excited. (that sounds crazy to my friends and fam). I have looked at this book several times! My fingers are crossed!
ReplyDeleteI'm just starting to look into cloth for the next little one.
ReplyDeleteI've been CD for about a month. We started to keep from throwing away money.
ReplyDeleteI am due in Aug and I am going to cd for all the regular reasons. Less expensive soooo much better for the baby and I think Mother Nature used cloth
ReplyDeletewe have been cloth diapering since baby girl was 4 weeks old. So about 11 weeks now and we love it. We started for health, financial and environmental reason, it was a no brainer for us!
ReplyDeleteWe cloth diapered for about 8 months with my daughter. We started when she was a few months old and stopped when I got pregnant again and would get sick from the dirty/wet diaper smell, and I had trouble keeping up with the laundry and we were always running out of clean cloth. We're going to start again with this new baby.
ReplyDeleteClothing diapering for about 11 weeks now. Chose it because of cost and chemicals in disposables.

We've been CD-ing for a little over a year and love it! We started because I hated how much trash we were creating and I didn't like how disposables made my LO's skin feel. We are hooked!
ReplyDeleteI've been cloth diapering for over a year. I originally started to save money.
ReplyDeleteWe have been using cloth for almost six months now. We started to avoid a potential allergic reaction. We continue because they are just so darn cute!
ReplyDeleteI do not currently cloth diaper, but seriously starting to consider it.
ReplyDeleteWe are TTC our first and plan to cloth diaper immediately!
ReplyDeleteWe plan to CD mostly for the cost savings but also love that they are so much healthier!
DeleteI chose to cloth diaper because my LO caught a stomach bug and was having tons of blowouts! After having to shampoo my carpet twice in one week from the blowouts I called some friends that cloth diaper and they assured me that cloth would contain it! So we switched and it worked!16 months and still going!
ReplyDeleteWe plan to cloth diaper from birth. We are choosing to cloth diaper to save money for the main reason.
ReplyDeleteI have been using cloth diapers on my 20 month old since he was about 2 months old. We started using them due to sensitive skin and to save money. The fact that they're so cute is a bonus!
ReplyDeleteI chose to cloth diaper my 17 month old to save money, and because my daughter was getting horrible diaper rash. We have been CD'ing at least part time since she was 5 months.
ReplyDeleteWe have been cloth diapering for 2 and a half months. We fell into a financial pit after an unfortunate accident with one of my kids and have been stuck there since last August when our baby arrived at 34 weeks. After making monthly payments on the bill from my other child, we had barely enough money left for us to function as a family of 7, but somehow our only vehicle, a suburban, managed to commit engine suicide last month, and now we are making a (used) car payment that we also can't afford. After all the bills are paid, there is about $46 left for TP and other necessities, and toddler diapers....we wouldn't even have THAT if we didn't have our infant in cloth. We are just barely getting by. The first debt will have the final payment made on it in June, then we can make double car payments so we can get out from under THAT debt....I'm trying to get enough diapers in our stash so that I can cloth the toddler until he will potty train, and I almost had it, but 6 of my diapers delaminated on me. So, here we go again. Our 7.5 month old is 100% cloth diapered (and wiped) though, and I LOVE it.

we did it for 6 months with our son!!
ReplyDeleteI've been cloth diapering our twins ever since they could fit into the one-size diapers we got. (They were born less than 4 pounds, so they were about 3 months old).
